DAFTAR is a Berlin-based studio run by Ayscha Omar and Simon Ertl, bringing together different design backgrounds in a practice shaped by experience across projects of various scales. Their own work — objects, spaces, exhibitions, concepts — sits alongside close collaborations with architects, designers, and artists, spanning domestic interiors, retail, public space, and exhibitions — kitchens especially close to their hearts. Their work walks the line of being both playful and serious, treating every detail — however small — with equal attention.

September 11–12, 2026 — Flying Carpets, Kreuzberg, Berlin
As part of Currents.Design in Berlin, DAFTAR presents new work at the vintage carpet shop Flying Carpets. For two days, the shop becomes a gathering space in the spirit of hospitality — tea, treats, and ice cream by friends and collaborators Cousins Ice Cream.

"Stools"

September 25 – late 2026 — A83 Gallery, New York
A group show curated by A83, Barkow Leibinger, and PIN–UP, bringing together stools by designers, architects, and studios from Berlin and New York. DAFTAR designed a new piece for the show.
